Since 1964, EPSI has been manufacturing high-pressure vessels for numerous conventional isostatic applications. Occasionally there are special pressure vessel applications required for high-pressure vessels. EPSI has been successful with a special application known as “Hot Isostatic Press In a Chamber” (HIPIC). This particular special application isolates the load material in an isolated chamber eliminating potential leakage into the HIP system.

Other special pressure vessel applications include high-pressure chemical reactors (USA only), high-pressure mixers, and supercritical extraction systems. The USA and Belgian activities were renamed to Engineered Pressure Systems Incorporated and Engineered Pressure Systems International respectively. These names are intended to reflect present day skills and experience within the group, and the acronym EPSI serves for either unit, representing our ability to apply the overall talents for special pressure vessel applications worldwide.

Very large diameters, combined with high-pressures and cycle life, sometimes requires a prestressed wire-wound design. EPSI has supplied several such installation units, either for its own CIPs or HIPs or for other contractors or machine builders.
